Biographical / Historical
R.B. (Robert Burnett) Oliver (1850:1934) was a lifelong influential resident of Cape Girardeau County Missouri. In addition to running a law practice with his sons, Oliver & Oliver, Oliver helped found the Cape Girardeau County Historical Society in 1926 and later served as its President and wrote many articles for it. Oliver also served a term as a State Senator in 1882, and was appointed by the governor to the State Council of Defense during WWI.
