McLain Family Papers
Scope and Contents
This collection mostly contains receipts and financial paperwork of the McLain Family, specifically Alexander McLain, David McLain, and John McLain. Very prominent in the collection is the paperwork relating to Alexander McLain’s pension for his service in the American Revolution, as well as a list of Alexander’s expenses. In addition to the financial papers, there are two partial letters and a contract for the establishment of a ferry at Crooked Creek.
