Abstract

Materials collected by Donald and Rubye Kraft. Includes ephemera from Donald B. Kraft’s days as a student at Southeast Missouri State Teachers College (1938-1939), V-Mail correspondence from World War II, Armed Forces editions of Newsweek and the Boston Herald, and late 19th century Cape Girardeau ephemera. Also includes a typed manuscript by Don Kraft (34p) entitled “Der Amerikanish Traum (The American Dream): A Profile of a Hessian Immigrant in Cape Girardeau, 1855-1888,” regarding the life of Adam Kraft, owner of Kraft Bakery in Cape Girardeau, and his relationships with other local businessmen, with biographical profiles, bibliography and copied photographs. Also includes nine Holograph letters and documents in French written by marshals appointed by the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.
