Biographical / Historical
Cape Girardeau’s Common Pleas Courthouse and Courthouse Park were completed in 1854. The Common Pleas Courthouse sits high atop a hill overlooking the historic downtown area. The grounds played significant role in the city's history including events such as Indian council meetings and the Civil War.
