Abstract

Recording of dedication ceremony of the new Magill Hall science building on the campus of Southeast Missouri State College on October 12, 1961.The building was named for Dr. Arthur C. Magill, Professor of Chemistry, Emeritus, and took place on his 80th birthday. In this recording, the invocation is given by Reverend Donald G. Pelsue, and the welcome address is by President Mark F. Scully. Dr. Magill presents a speech entitled “From My Viewpoint.”Dr. E. U. Condon, Chairman of the Department of Physics from Washington University in St. Louis follows with a dedicatory address, ‘Improving the Teaching of Science,” followed by a benediction by Dr. Robert C. Holliday. Running time: 01:11:15.
