The subscription cards are arranged chronologically by date.

Biographical / Historical
At the end of World War I, Southeast Teacher’s College faculty members formed a committee to establish a war memorial dedicated to the eighteen students who lost their lives during the conflict. Professors A.W. Vaughn and R.S. Douglas were chosen as committee chairman and treasurer. The committee proposed a plan to establish a permanent Memorial Loan Fund for $1,000 and to erect a monument for $7,500 at the Pacific Street entrance to campus The committee did not reach their original goal of having the total cost covered by November 1, 1920, but more than $5,000 had been received from Southeast students and faculty and other donors by June 1, 1921.
