Biographical / Historical
The Missouri State Teachers Association (MSTA) was founded in 1856 in St. Louis as a professional organization for educators in the state of Missouri. Since that time, it has grown and flourished, and it now has four regional offices in Cape Girardeau, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield, Missouri. The main headquarters is in Columbia, Missouri.
Since its founding, MSTA has actively promoted the interests of educators, taken an active role in state legislation, and provided services for young teachers who are new to the profession.
In addition to regular local and district meetings, MSTA also hosts an annual meeting and convention, and takes part in national educational conventions and legislation.
