Biographical / Historical
The Serviceman’s Readjustment Act of 1944, better known as the G.I Bill, helped returning WWII veterans adjust to civilian life. The act allowed for funds to pay for tuition, books, and other supplies that veterans may have needed to attend college. Records were kept by Southeast Missouri State College to determine the amount of funding needed to cover the costs of attendance by veterans.
