Facultyettes Minute Book
Scope and Contents
Contains information about the activities of the Facultyettes. They had parties, played bridge and other games, went on excursions, put on comical historic tableau, and did a lot of eating, playing, and singing. Many meetings were held at the Colonial Tavern, the home of the college president, Marquette Hotel, the Wigwam, and the Albert Leming orchard. They competed in the Swampeast Missouri Olympics, went on hay rides, hadpicnics and luncheons, played bingo, quilted, and knitted. On some occasions they hosted the Faculty Dames, another campus group of faculty women.

Biographical / Historical
The Facultyettes was a social club formed in September 1924 and open to women of the faculty of the Southeast Missouri State Teachers College. The original members were Sadie T. Kent (librarian), two secretaries (Edna N. Wilson and Christine W. Randolph), and a Professor of English, Martha C. Shea. Their proposition was “That the Women of the Faculty ought to have some fun.” They adopted the name “Facultyettes.” It is not known for certain when the Facultyettes officially ceased to exist.
