This collection contains materials created by the St. Louis Genealogical Society. It includes St. Louis probate records, listings of cemeteries in St. Louis county, the 1860 St. Louis Federal Census Index, genealogy guides, surname indices, and a quarterly publishing from their society.

Biographical / Historical
The St. Louis Genealogical Society was formed by Dorothy Amburgey Griffith in December of 1966 as a branch of the National Genealogical Society. In December of 1967 the Society broke away from the NGS and became their own distinct entity. The St. Louis Genealogical Society has become one of the largest all volunteer genealogy societies in the country. They have several Special Interest Groups including Irish and German.
