Abstract

Consists primarily of black and white photographs taken during Grauel’s years of teaching at the University. Photographs date from the late 1920s to the 1970s, but the bulk of the photographs date from the 1930s and 1940s. Included are photos of students, dances, plays, athletic and military events and University buildings.

Abstract Negatives, some of which appear to correspond with one of Grauel’s personal photo albums. Other negatives are of the Navy V-12, which ceased training in Cape Girardeau in 1940. Approximately 150 black and white negatives correspond to some of the photographs in the collection. The slides consist of images of Kent Library in 1970, shortly after its remodeling, homecoming in 1973, and construction of the University Center in 1973.
