Series XI: Maps, 1903-1984
Scope and Contents
Dr. Wilkie’s original donation consists of Cultural Resource Surveys conducted by Dr. Wilkie from 1976 to 1986. The collection received in 2004 contained additional Cultural Resource Surveys that were integrated with the original donations into Series I. Also added at this time were slides, photographs, negatives, maps, and additional papers, which consist of the Series II to XI. Some of the main archaeology excavation information found in this collection includes Dr. Wilkie’s work at the Towosahgy State Historic Site, the Hunze-Evans site, and the Trail of Tears State Park, all of which are located in southern Missouri. The photographs and negatives are cross-referenced in Appendix B. Some of the slides are identical to the photographs and negatives in the collection, but have not been cross-referenced.
